Human Resources Assistant

Lansing, Michigan - PM Environmental, Inc. (PM) is looking for a Human Resources Assistant. Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain and ensure the security and confidentiality of all employee files
  • Be available and willing to address employee questions and concerns, and provide appropriate feedback in a timely and courteous manner
  • Updating and maintaining the Human Resource Department files, and spearheading transition to electronic systems, as directed
  • Assist the HR Manager in the research for and preparation of various reports. These include, but are not limited to, EEOC and Annual Federal requirements, ACA and other insurance reporting, as well as for state and municipality contract requirements
  • Assist employees with access to necessary information regarding company policies, procedures, and benefit plans
  • Assist with the execution of, and help plan changes to, the employee recognition program, and coordinate with other staff in the planning of company sponsored events to promote teamwork
  • Participate in the planning and execution of new hire onboarding
  • Prepare bi-weekly payroll submission to third party service and record all entries in the accounting system
  • Conduct phone screen interviews of job applicants, as assigned
  • Reviewing current Federal, State, and/or local regulations and industry specific information to learn/maintain current knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements
  • Complete Unemployment Office required reports and paperwork
  • Act as a representative of the company by promoting a positive, professional corporate image to employees and others, both during work and outside of the workplace environment
  • Other tasks and duties, as assigned

Desired Qualifications

  • 3-5 years HR experience is preferred. At least two years in pursuit of a degree in Human Resources Management is an acceptable alternative to experience
  • Must have excellent organization, oral, and written communication skills
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality
  • A valid driver’s license

Accounts Receivable Clerk

Lansing, Michigan - PM Environmental, Inc. (PM) is looking for an Accounts Receivable Clerk to work Accounting and Administration Staff, Management Team, Group Managers, Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, and project staff assigned to individual projects. Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Accounts Receivable follow-up
  • Cash receipts
  • Vendor management
  • Database integrity
  • Mailing monthly statements

Desired Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent education is required, a student pursuing a two or four year degree in Accounting is preferred
  •

Project Manager/Industrial Hygienist

Lansing/Grand Rapids, Michigan - PM Environmental, Inc. (PM) is looking for a talented Project Manager/Industrial Hygienist to work with our Industrial Hygiene Department at Lansing/Grand Rapids Regional office(s).
Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Overall Project Management and Report Writing
  • Performing asbestos, lead, and hazardous materials inspections and surveys
  • Responsible for abatement oversight and air monitoring
  • Writing high quality, technical reports

Desired Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies, Geology, or related field is preferred
  • NIOSH 582 Certification
  • Michigan Asbestos Inspector License is required; certifications in other Midwest States is preferred
  • Michigan Lead Inspector / Risk Assessor is required; certifications in other Midwest States is preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience with building material surveys, asbestos abatement oversight and air monitoring, and lead inspections

Due Diligence Environmental Consultant

Berkley, Michigan, Lancaster, Pennsylvania and the Cincinnati, Ohio area - PM Environmental, Inc. (PM) is looking for talented Due Diligence Environmental Professionals to work within our Due Diligence Group. This position typically consists of a split between office and field duties. Field duties include site walkovers, data collection, and evaluation. Office work includes project coordination, data management, report writing. The Due Diligence Environmental Professional will report to the Midwest Region Due Diligence Manager
Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Completion of Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and related Due Diligence Projects
  • Provide high quality Environmental Site Assessment reports by ensuring that reports are complete to industry and PM standards
  • Develop and maintain client relationships
  • Site Walks
  • Data Collection and Management
  • Project Coordination

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology or Related field

Entry Level Architectural Consultant

Berkley, Michigan - PM Environmental, Inc. (PM) is presently seeking candidates with a strong background in architecture, engineering and construction to perform diverse third-party building evaluations, such as property condition assessments (PCAs), architectural document & cost reviews, and construction loan monitoring.

Education

  • Minimum 4-year architectural, engineering, or construction related degree, e.g. Bachelor’s degree in architecture or engineering, or related discipline
  • Alternatively, a 2-year Associates Degree in Construction, Building Science, or Building Facilities Management may be considered depending on experience

Qualifications

  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Job Requirements

  • Applicant must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time (local and nationwide), with the ability to travel on short notice (1 week or less), and occasionally work on nights or weekends
  • Valid driver’s license; hiring process will include a motor vehicle record and background check
  • Proficiency utilizing current software, such as Microsoft Office programs

Physical Demands

  • Ability to climb a ladder and access building roofs, attics and crawl spaces
  • Ability to perform inspections during various weather conditions, e.g. rain or snow
  • Must be able to pass a respirator and asbestos medical clearance examination; Annual medical monitoring may be required pursuant to asbestos licensing

Senior Geologist

Roseville or Long Beach, California - PM Environmental, Inc. (PM) is looking for a a talented Senior Geologist to work primarily within our Western Region in our Roseville or Long Beach, California offices. Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform all phases of environmental due diligence and site assessments including completion of soil, soil gas, and groundwater investigations and remediation
  • Completion of project initiation documents – which include detailed scopes of work , budgets, and schedule of operations
  • Provide high quality technical reports by ensuring that reports are complete to industry and PM standards
  • Assist with Site Investigation, Underground Storage Tank programs, and Remediation as needed
  • Review and evaluate the project file to verify the adequacy of the scope of work to assure objectives are being met
  • Provide senior technical reviews for a variety of documents including Phase I, II and III ESAs, proposals, etc.
  • Prepare Human Health Risk Assessments with assistance from other senior technical staff.
  • Achieve client objectives by obtaining information, evaluating concerns and needs,  and presenting recommendations
  • Assist clients in achieving and maintaining compliance with Federal, State, and/or local environmental regulations
  • Business Development duties, such as representation of the firm at Trade Shows and Conferences
  • Develop and maintain client relationships

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology or Related field
  • At least 8 years of experience in Environmental Consulting; experience with Chlorinated Solvent, Petroleum, Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST), etc. assessment and remediation preferred
  • Possess a California PG or PE license is required
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem solving skills and general scientific evaluation skills

Architectural Consultant

Tampa, Florida, Birmingham, Alabama and/or Murfreesboro, Tennessee - PM Environmental, Inc. (PM) is looking for candidates with a strong background in architecture, engineering and construction to perform diverse third-party building evaluations such as property condition assessments (PCAs), architectural document & cost reviews, and construction loan monitoring.

Duties will include:

  • Performing diverse third-party building evaluations, such as property condition assessments
  • Conducting field assessments of buildings in order to identify deficiencies
  • Preparing written reports according to the client's scope of work

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree Architecture, Engineering, or related technical field
  • 2 to 4 years of related experience
  • Strong organization skills and keen attention to detail
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to assess the overall physical condition of properties, investigate problematic construction materials and building systems, and estimate costs to repair or replace building construction materials, mechanical systems, or components
  • Must have available for travel up to 50% of the time
  • Experience with building commissioning, blower door air barrier testing, thermal imagery or other building forensics is desired
  • Familiarity with Phase I environmental site assessments (ESAs) is preferred
  • Must be able to complete physical tasks such as climbing a ladder and entering into crawl spaces
