Underground Storage Tank Management

PM Environmental’s skilled Petroleum Services team conducts investigation and remediation using practical and innovative solutions. Our ability to smoothly navigate federal, state, and local petroleum regulations and compliance programs in numerous states including Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida, means more efficient and cost-effective projects for our clients.

PM Environmental is a qualified consultant and is experienced in compliance programs, from facility compliance reviews for paperwork and equipment to assessing risk and exposures related to substantial compliance with Underground Storage Tank (UST) regulations and State Trust funds, such as the Michigan Underground Storage Tank Authority (MUSTA) Fund.

Our team handles pre-compliance inspections, site and paperwork preparation services, as well as third party review and program management services.  Our team is also experienced in accelerated site characterization and source removal to expedite site redevelopment.  We are able to investigate and remediate petroleum releases from the point of production, through transmission, to gas stations.

Bulk Terminals and Loading Racks

PM has thorough understanding of Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements associated with bulk terminals and loading racks.  Our qualified professionals are able to assess risk and exposures related to substantial compliance with Aboveground Storage Tank (AST) standards and air and water regulations.  We have developed assessment plans, maintained groundwater monitoring programs as well as designed and maintained free product recovery systems.  Our ability to establish risk-based criteria to minimize remediation costs makes us a valuable resource to our clients.  We own and operate our own Geoprobes and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) units with concrete scan capabilities.

UST Assessment & Closure

Our team also has extensive experience in UST assessment and closure regulations as well as navigating the requirements of governing underground storage tanks, leaking USTs, and available state reimbursement funds, such as the Michigan Underground Storage Tank Authority (MUSTA) Fund, to clean up leaking underground storage tank (LUST) sites.  With more than 25 years of experience under our belts, we have successfully closed over 400 UST and Leaking Underground Storage Tank Sites since 1992 in the Midwest and Southeast.
