How is Sub-Slab Soil Gas Sampling Done? {Infographic}

Vapor Intrusion occurs when vapors from volatile chemicals in contaminated soil or ground water migrate through subsurface soils and/or preferential pathways (such as underground utilities) and impact the indoor air quality of any overlying buildings.*

Recent advancements in toxicological science and inclusion in the ASTM E1527-13 guiding Phase I Environmental Site Assessments have placed priority on evaluating Vapor Intrusion pathways. Regulators across the county are increasing requirements for sampling these pathways.

Sub-slab soil gas sampling is used in existing buildings that may have or be near sources of Vapor Intrusion contaminates.

PM conducts Vapor Intrusion Assessments and can help you understand how vapor issues may affect your transactions.  PM also has success in mitigating vapor intrusion on a variety of projects through the installation of Sub-Slab Depressurization Systems, which are common mitigation systems for existing construction.
