PM Environmental is proud to announce the addition of Gus George as Senior Technical Advisor in PM’s Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST) Trust department. George will work out of PM’s Berkley, Michigan office.
George is a Michigan Certified UST Professional with over 30 years of experience dealing with a variety of complex environmental issues throughout the United States. George is an experienced environmental manager with a well-diversified background in hazardous waste treatment, permitting, remediation, underground storage tank (UST) management, closure assessments, RCRA closure plans preparation and implementation, field operations, Phase I & II environmental assessments and Baseline Environmental Assessments (BEAs), audits, PCB cleanup verification, land reclamation, sludge management and asbestos surveys.
George has a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering and has worked for several large petroleum firms throughout the world. George worked internationally with British Petroleum (UK), and with their leadership team from 2009 through 2014 on developing integrating strategies between Iraq’s Southern Oil Company (SOC), Petro China staff and BP. George was also part of BP’s optimization team that successfully increased oil production of the fourth largest oil field in the world, placing it as the third largest in the world. George also conducted Control of Work (CoW) and Hazard Identification and Task Risk Assessment (HITRA) training for over 140 engineers and technicians over a period of two and a half months in Edinburgh, Scotland. In 2012, George was a Senior Technical Advisor for the BP team in Northern Iraq to redevelop a portion of a major oil field with declining oil production rates.
